Obituary of Angelo Chiusano

Angelo Chiusano of Oakland, NJ passed away on February 20, 2022. He was 95 years old. Angelo was born in Englewood, NJ son of the late Pasquale Chiusano and Mary DeFeo. He is predeceased by his wife Ann of 64 years, daughter Linda, and two brothers and their spouses: the late Anthony and Catherine, and the late Pasquale (Pat) and Marilyn. He grew up in Englewood and graduated from Dwight Morrow High School there, two years ahead of his future wife. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Electricians Mate Third Class. After the war he obtained a bachelor’s degree from Farleigh Dickinson University. Angelo married Ann in 1950, and they moved their young family to Oakland in 1957. He was employed by NJ Bell for 36 years retiring in 1988. Angelo had an innate knack for tinkering and building things. Be it a tree house, go-kart or shed, he could create and fix just about anything. He looked forward to any opportunity to fish throughout his life and passed down that passion to his children. In later years, he loved to sing and had a wonderful voice. He lived a long full life and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter Diane Haverty and her husband Robert, sons: Mark and his wife Laura, Wayne and his wife Beth, and Scott; along with his brother Paul and wife Irene. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well. Family and friends may visit the Oakland Memorial Home on Sunday February 27 from 12:00 PM noon to 2:00 PM. Funeral service will commence at 1:30 PM. Burial of cremains will be private. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to the Oakland First Aid squad would be appreciated.
