I only knew Jim a short while from being married to Shirin. He was seriously the most kind, loving, gentle, happy, positive, human being I have ever met. I will miss him and his kind and gentle ways.

Fly High My Friend, soar like an eagle!
Fight, don't give up, you got this, keep the faith, just a bump in the road. Well that bump turned into a crater and left us all here devastated and broken. All I can say is that God must have bigger plans for you.
Thank you for being part of my life for almost 40 years. It won't be the same without you. You were a brother to me and I will be forever grateful. This past year was extra special as we worked side by side and you taught me so much. Your an incredible Architect, and your precise writing with that triangle was absolutely amazing and truly fascinating!! Your designs will live on and on and there are so so many. Be proud of all your achievements, but your very best ones are your children, Amanda and Pete, your grandchildren Scarlett and PJ and ofcourse your beautiful Shirin. She was your everything! They all made you so happy and it was great to see you so happy.
I miss you so much already. I love you! ❤
Until we meet again.......

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
In has been an honor and a privilege to have known you as long as we have. Your kindness, as well as your smile and laugh, will be missed by all that have known you. May you be reunited with those that have gone before you.

My friend and coworker for 35 years. You had the patience to teach me how to draw and answer the same questions until it clicked with me. We could laugh uncontrollably at times and yet we got our work done. The legacy of your work will be all over Bergen County and beyond forever as well as your love and caring for your family. Rest In Peace my friend.

Rest in sweet peace Jim . We love you so much your presence was always warm and welcoming to me and I enjoyed every moment I got to know you and spend time with you . You were such a good father and always were there for your children you gave them such a good life of love and that reflects in them both . Your eyes lit up when you saw PJ you were so happy and at ease with him and proud of him . I am so glad you got to meet him . I am so glad we saw you Father’s Day and you got to sit in the yard with Pete and guy talk and relax . It was such a nice image in my head I have of you too from one of the last times we got to be with you . You are a kind loving gentle soul and this just happened all way to fast and sudden . It is unfair and just awful. I truly will miss you so much and PJ will miss having you in his life as he grows . Oh I am so so sad .... please enjoy hanging out with my dad now and getting to know him you guys are alike in many ways . I hope you are at peace relaxing and doing everything you love to do with no pain . We will all miss you terribly gone to soon . rest easy James Vandertulip we are happy PJ has both of his strong amazing grandpa’s names . I truly miss you and wish I got to say goodbye to you . Thank you for being so loving to us all .
