Steliga, Raymond 91, of Oakland, NJ died Saturday April 21, 2012. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was a resident of Oakland for more than 50 years. Ray served in the Navy in WWII aboard the Lavallette. Ray, otherwise know as “ KA2HQK” was an avid ham radio operator and member of the Ramapo Mountain Amateur Radio Club. He and his brother Joe were owners and operators of Imperial Home Builders and developed many beautiful neighborhoods in the area. As a little league coach for both soccer and baseball, Ray’s love of sports found a home. Ray was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose. He is survived by his children Christine Van Broekhoven of Franklin Lakes, Janice Cressman of Erie Co., Nancy Kempf of Sparta, Laurie of Ringwood, Rob of Collegeville, Pa., as well as 16 adoring grandchildren and 1 great grandchild survive him. is smile, hugs and knuckle cracking handshakes will be missed. Everyone will meet at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church 117 Franklin Avenue Oakland, NJ on Thursday April 26 for a 9:30 Am Funeral Liturgy. Burial to follow at Christ the King Cemetery Franklin Lakes, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit at the Funeral Home on Wednesday April 25 from 7-9 PM.
