Oh how my heart is broken, after learning about the passing of Ms. Jane and Mr. Leigh. Both were wonderful, kind people. Bob and I met them in 2001 on a Battlefield Tour (ETO) - where the 104th Inf. Div. fought. We always were happy to see them at the Timberwolf Reunions. We enjoyed visiting with them at their home one year that the Reunion was held in D.C. To the family - our sincere condolences.

My condolences to the lydecker family, I was very fortunate to meet them, they were an example of life for me, with their love, simplicity, good humor and kindness, they will always live in my heart.
Jane I miss seeing you every morning, enjoying your black coffee with no sugar, and Leigh I miss seeing you always working around the house, looking for something to do.
Love you both.
Yanina Flores.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Jane and her husband. I worked with Jane for many years at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern NY and it was always pleasure. She was a true professional but also had a great sense of humor and was up for a good laugh sometimes even at her expense. I know how she loved her family because she always spoke so highly of all of them. I'm sure she will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved by all. l Love from Arlene Turino

In July 1976, Leigh and Jane Lydecker - with their children Kitsy, Mark and Leigh III - welcomed me into their home for a whole year. I was an exchange student from France, had never visited the US before, and spoke mediocre English with a Franco-British accent at best. Jane and Leigh were wonderful hosts: so welcoming, generous, patient and understanding. They became “my American parents”. And they both had a great sense of humour; we laughed a lot together! I have so many heartwarming memories of my year spent in Oakland, interspersed with great holidays and weekends in Long Lake. After that memorable and formative year, Jane, Leigh and I always stayed in touch (some visits, lots of cards, and several phone calls every year), and I have loved talking and laughing with Jane on the phone during the past 45 years.
I still can’t believe they are gone. I will always remember their generosity of spirit and the positive influence they both had on my life, as a teenager when I lived with them and their family, and throughout my entire adult life, even at a distance.
I loved Jane and Leigh dearly.
Kitsy, Mark, Leigh III, Eddy and Karlee: I am thinking of you, and of the entire Lydecker clan, and wish I could be with you in person during this most difficult time. Love, Carole B.F.

Many years ago when we purchased our first Winnebago motor home, we joined the Gateway Winnies. Jane and Leigh were both members and we spent many years taking trips to various places. Sitting around the campfire (huddled in blankets sometimes) we enjoyed their company and Lee's many stories. You could tell that there was a tremendous love between Jane and Leigh and we were proud to become their friends. Over the years, Jane would invite the Winnies to their home for a Christmas get together and it was always a grand time. As time passed it became a dinner at the Oakland Grill, still a good time with great friends.
God bless you Jane and Leigh you are great people.
