To My Dear Friend Colleen Rubino, husband Mark, son Ryan (& all who knew and loved James
O'Neill:
I am so very sorry for your loss. Even though I did not know James, I do know the feeling of "loss". Nothing I say or do will make the pain go away, just know there are people who care - and I am one of them. James is in Heaven with Jesus now. He is watching over you. RIP James, you no longer feel pain...and to those he left behind, I say:
When a person becomes a Memory, The Memory becomes a Treasure! God Bless, Donna Leonardo, 14 Morrisfield Pass, Colts Neck, NJ. 07722

Barbara.
So sorry to hear the news. May you find peace in knowing that he is not suffering anymore and is resting with Lori. I have such fond memories of growing up across the street from you guys playing with "Colleen, Dee Dee and Lori" I can still hear you calling them for dinner like that. And Mr. O Neil calling me and Lori "Ham bone and Soup bone" because we were so skinny. LOL May he rest in peace.

Condolence to James O'Neill family. I had always admired Jimmy, do to the fact he was my partner back in 1972 working TPU in the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Jim was a great teacher on how to survive when dealing with criminals. God bless Jimmy, hoping that he is resting in God's everlasting arms.

Jim,
You and I were friends for a lot of years, on and off the job. You were like a brother to be as well as being a cops cop. I will always remember the fun we had at the operations on the GWB. I will miss your friendship and humor, I will pray for you and miss you. Rest in peace old friend.

Hi partner, I'm still in shock, I can't believe no more lunches as the Medco trio. I'ts just a duo now the Scan and me. The several years we worked together at Mecdo were some of the best years of my life. Being total strangers at the start, I feel we ended up almost like brothers. We had some great times working together,we had a knack of looking at people and seeing something funny about them. I guess that was our police training after retirement. Jimmy AKA (POPPOP) with your funny jokes and classic music for me will always be remembered. Jimmy, you are what was known as a cop's cop, this is why you were liked and loved so much. I have and had some PA PD friends and I always mentioned that I worked with you and there was never a mean or nasty word about you.
Jimmy, may the lord bless you and keep you and may you rest in peace without the pain you suffered here. I'm so glad we went to lunch a few weeks ago it will always stay with me, especially you busting my Italian chops as usual. I love you Brother & Partner. Say hello to my beautiful Eleanore for me. Mike

That photo of Jim really reflects his personality - thumbs up and a big smile. He loved to hold court and had a contagious laugh that was his calling card. It was always enjoyable to be in his presence. Jim also had a serious side, with the finely honed, keen instincts of a street cop. Even though he rose to the rank of Inspector, Jim never lost his familiarity with the street. A great all around guy, a true professional and a credit to the PAPD. My condolences to the family he spoke of every day.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim for many years. I always knew him to be an excellent worker , with a terrific sense of humor. Jim always had that big Irish smile on his face and a great laugh. His commendations do not really reflect the natural instincts he possessed in dealing with the criminal element . In short , he was a natural as a police officer. As he rose through the ranks he had the respect of all the Officers he supervised and of everyone he interacted with. An all around classy guy.
My deepest condolences to the O'Neill family.
