Burns, Karl H age 91 passed away on May 7, 2016. He was born on February 28, 1925 in Oakland, NJ and grew up and lived in Oakland until his retirement March 2001 to Eastham, MA .He joined the Marine Corp in November 1942, served in the Pacific Theater. He was wounded on May 4th 1945 in Okinawa, Japan received the Purple Heart and spent 18 months in a Navy hospital. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps, he went into business with his father and founded HP Burns & Sons, a hardware and garden supply store in Oakland, NJ. He is survived by his wife Lisa (nee Nieswandt) Burns formerly of Germany and three children Michele Burns and companion Rusty Gallo of Hewitt, NJ; Lynn and her husband Michael Non of Port Jervis, NY and Ray Burns and his wife Kathleen of Hopatcong, NJ; six grand and four great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Ronald of Eastham, MA and Douglas of Tucson, AZ, a sister Lois Bedell of Blairstown, NJ. He is predeceased by his parents Henry P. and Margaret S. Burns, sister Carolyn Marchesselli and son Gregg Burns. Relatives and friends may visit at the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland on Wednesday 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial in Ponds Reformed Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Karl H.
