My condolences to the family of Ginny. I remember Ginny from many summers spent at GLP. Ginny was always smiling and was such fun to be around. My children, Chad and Nichole treasure their awesome Christmas stockings Ginny made. I still hang mine by the chimney every year.
Ginny and I always sent each other Christmas cards. I will miss her card this year. Ginny was truly a lovely lady. Peace to you all. Dawn (Danis) Curtin

I have been friends with Ginny since 1969. We were both camp counselors at Camp Whitman. I left Connecticut for San Diego California in 1978 and have returned yearly in the summer and visited with her at the Point. I truly will miss her and I offer my condolences for your loss. Lois

Ginny was loved by those of us who knew her, at the Mystic Seaport Boathouse. She was always there to run, on the Motor launch,"Resolute", with another good friend, Granville Beals(previously passed). They made a great team fir tours of the Seaport.
Ginny, you will be missed by us all.

I have had the privilege of knowing Ginny for half of my life. I was a volunteer and then staff member at the Mystic Seaport Boathouse where she volunteered many summer hours. While she may have retired from teaching before I met her, she continued to educate youth in so many ways. Ginny was one of the kindest, most vibrant people I have had the pleasure to call a friend. Her spirit was something everyone noticed, she was a strong, independent woman who taught us all to be better versions of ourselves, to smile and adventure, to reach for our dreams, to always eat dark chocolate (for the very important antioxidants). I am so blessed to have known her. God Bless and may she rest in peace. My prayers and heart is with her family and friends during the difficult time of saying farewell. Her memory will live on in everyone she came into contact with.

I worked at the Mystic Seaport Boathouse as a teenager and had the great pleasure of getting to know Ginny. She was a lovely and kind woman who became an important part of our little family. She always had good advice and perspective and I learned a lot from her. I'll remember her fondly riding on Resolute and smiling with guests of all ages. mostly I'll remember that she always brought "antioxidants" for us in the form of dark chocolate Hershey kisses, and insisted that we all indulge. I'm glad that I had the chance to know her.

Ginny was a childhood friend of my Father (Cal, Sr). They grew up at GrotonLong Point and remained friends all their lives until he died in 2001. While he was sick she visited often and sent him little cards several times a week which my Mother kept taped to the wall in my Dad's room to keep his spirits up.
She was (and will always be) an important part of our family lore and a treasured part of our Groton Long Point memories.

There are many treasured memories of teaching with "Ginny" at Benjamin Franklin Middle School. She was an enthusiastic science teacher and a compassionate staff member. I don't believe she ever forgot a faculty member's birthday, and even if you had a summer birthday ( mine is in August) there was always a greeting from Ginny in the mail.I can even remember when Ginny opened her house to the faculty Christmas cheer parties, and I remember meeting her parents for the earlier parties that she hosted.
We all marveled at her skiing, walking, and other active pastimes. There we're ski accidents, hip surgery, other treatments, etc... over the years, but Ginny never lost her spirit and desire to live life to its fullest. She was an inspiration to us all.
As Benjamin Franklin said, " Well done is better than well said." Ginny lived life to its fullest and her many community projects were her opportunities to give back. Her many experiences, school lessons, and community activities were "well done."
With condolences and love,
Kathy Ferdinand English/Social Studies BFMS
