Obituary of James John McGuire

James John "Jim" McGuire, 81, of Bronx, New York, passed away on March 25, 2024, in Oakland, New Jersey. He was born on July 29, 1942.

Jim, a proud US Army veteran who served for 4 years, dedicated 30 years of his life to a successful career in Investment Banking and Credit Management. He graduated from Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx, NY, and furthered his education at Fordham University at Lincoln Center.

He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members: sister Philomena, his daughter Christine, sons James and Michael, grandchildren Carly, Gavin, Thomas, Colin, and Jack, son-in-law Glen, daughter-in-law Patricia. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane Ellen Finn McGuire, mother Alice Smith McGuire Devine, father James McGuire, and sisters Bernadine and Florence.

Jim found solace in worshipping at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland, NJ, where he was an active member of the community. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and playing cards with his friends.

A viewing service honoring Jim's life will be held at the Oakland Memorial Home located at 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ 07436 on 4/1/24 Monday, from 5pm to 8pm.

The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on 4/2/24 Tuesday at 9:30am, followed by a cemetery procession to Maryrest Cemetary on 770 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430.
