Szwed, Peter age 90, of Oakland, NJ passed peacefully on August 25, 2013 surrounded by his family. Peter was a member of the NY Carpenters Union, built the house where he and wife Peggy (nee:Murphy) lived since 1953. Devoted father of Peter (wife Patti), Michael (wife Lisa), John (wife Deb), Danny (wife Donna) and Maureen Casey (husband Mike). Cherished Grandfather of Nicole, Dan, Tracy, Keri, Michael and Joey, pre-deceased by Grandson Johnny, Great-Grandfather of Alyssa and Matthew. Predeceased by his brother Paul and Parents John and Eva, survived by his sister-in-law Barbara. Relatives and friends may visit Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road on Friday August 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral departing Saturday August 31 at 9:30 am for a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s R.C. Church 17 Pompton Avenue Pompton Lakes, NJ. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery Mahwah, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
