James E. Mahon of Pompton Plains, NJ, formally of Monroe, CT died peacefully on March 2, 2018 at the age of 91. James was born in Manhattan on September 23, 1926. James was a civil engineer who earned his degree at Manhattan College.. He was a member of The Moles and served in the United States Army. James is survived by his wife Gloria of 62 years, five children, Maria and Dave Frank of Oakland, NJ, James and Linda Mahon of Titusville, NJ, Anne and John Murtaugh of Westwood, NJ, Catherine and Robert Bruno of Palm Harbor, FL, and Joseph Mahon of Armonk, NY. and eight grandchildren, Daniel, Robert, Rachel, Meghan, Adam, Alexandra, James and Lauren. Visitation will be held at the Oakland Memorial Home, Oakland, NJ on Monday March 5, from 3-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Mahwah NJ on Tuesday March 6 at 10:00 am.
