Obituary of Ann Eckert

Ann, E. Eckert, 88, a long time resident of Oakland, NJ passed away on 10/17/2012 at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ on July 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John "Rudy" and Anna ( nee Yore) McCarthy. She married Russell H. Eckert on June 21, 1945. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Russell H. Eckert and four siblings; John McCarthy, Helen Fisher, Mary Dixon, and Florence Kroeper. She was an excellent seamstress, a friendly Avon lady, and worked at Felsway Corp. and K&E in Accounting. She was a loving devoted wife, a caring, patient mother and grandmother great-grandmother, a favorite aunt and good friend who always gave to others selflessly. She is survived by her 4 children. Dr. Richard R. and his wife, Merrily Eckert of Roanoke VA; Kenneth G. and his wife Lee Anne Eckert of Sun City Center, FL; Carol A. Fafara of West Milford NJ; and Steven C. and his wife Terri Eckert of Chester NY. , 12 grandchildren Scott Lasater, Dr. Felicity Vanke, Vanessa Case, A. Robert Adams, Ryan Ritter, Christopher and Tim Eckert, Jessica, Shawn and Michael Fafara, Maddison and Samantha Valentine, 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cathy Rogan and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends and relatives will be received on Monday from 5-9 PM at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, New Jersey 07436. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 117 Franklin Ave Oakland NJ 07436 on Tuesday at 9:30 AM Interment at Garden 0f' Memories Pascack Rd Washington Township NJ07976 immediately following.
