Obituary of Rosemary Kozel Fuchs
Please share a memory of Rosemary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Fuchs, Rosemary Kozel 84 of Oakland, NJ. Our cherished Rosemary passed away quietly on March 17, 2017. Rosemary is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years William Fuchs. Together they walked through life, raising their dearly loved family. "The only thing she ever really wanted to be was a mom." This was fulfilled with her surviving, loving children- son Randy, daughter and son-in-law Leighanne and Robert Egan, and daughter and son-in-law Heather and David Gavito. Blessed with six grandchildren, "Nana" treasured Brandon, Connor, Trevor and Tierney Egan and Brielle and Brennan Gavito. And recently, she became a great-grandmother to Brandon and Alyson Egan's son, Griffin. Her beautiful life began in Shawnee, Oklahoma with parents Henry C. and Beulah Kozel, and surviving sisters- Loretta, Karen and Ramona. As a young teenager they moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas before she returned to her home state to earn a journalism degree at The University of Oklahoma. In the following years, she met and married William, and together moved to their family's future home of over 50 years, Oakland, NJ. Here she was greatly involved in the community, acting as a Girl Scout Leader, PTA President, member of the local and county Republican Party organizations, and OLPH Parrish liturgy committee. Additionally, Rosemary enjoyed reading and playing bridge with friends. Though most of all, Rosemary's true passion was cooking and baking for loved ones.
Though our hearts are breaking today, we will forever hear in the wind her laughter. In the quiet of the snowfall, we will hear her whispers through the years. And when we feel the warming sun, we will know she is hugging us. Rosemary's love will live always in our memories, and forever in our hearts she will be home. So while we say goodbye today, we know that our walk together has not ended. It's just I love you, until we are all together again in paradise. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 25 Purdue Ave. Oakland, NJ. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 7pm Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, N.J.
