Obituary of Judith Mae Girr

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Girr, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away surrounded by family. She was the devoted wife of Robert Louis Girr and the cherished daughter of the late Woodrow and Myrtle Martell. She was also predeceased by her dear brother, Kenneth Martell.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Carrie Lawler and her husband Christopher, and Charlene Mangino and her husband Karl. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Nicholas, Jack, Nathan, and Lucy, who brought endless joy to her life. She rarely missed a play, concert, or school program and was always in the stands cheering them on at every game — their #1 fan in every way.

Raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, she was an active member of her church community and lived her faith daily through kindness, generosity, and service. Her career as a physical education teacher was a perfect reflection of her energy, creativity, and love for children. She inspired countless students with her enthusiasm for sports and lifelong learning.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, boundless support for her family, and her ability to bring people together with laughter and love.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her legacy of encouragement, faith, and joy will live on through all who knew her
