Obituary of Allan B Saracco
Please share a memory of Allan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Allan Brian Saracco, of Oakland, New Jersey, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday May 24, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78 years old.
Allan spent his childhood in Maywood, New Jersey, before his parents moved to Montvale. He graduated from Pascack Valley High School in 1965 and later attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts where he earned an Associates Degree in graphic design.
Allan’s two passions, outside of his family, were cars and art. He landed his dream job when he was hired by Volkswagen of America as a graphic designer where he was responsible for drawing the images for the company’s parts manuals. When Volkswagen transferred their headquarters to Michigan, Allan declined the offer to transfer as his heart and his home were in New Jersey. He spent the rest of his career working as a service manager for several high-end car dealerships, where he specialized in Porsches and Audis.
In his spare time, Allan loved to work on his cars. He could often be found in the garage or driveway washing and polishing his cherished Mustangs, with classic rock music playing in the background. He also enjoyed travelling the world with his wife, attending NASCAR events and car shows, and spending time with his family. He found joy in making people smile and often surprised his grandkids with silly gifts just to see them laugh.
Allan was a long-time Oakland resident – he and his wife purchased their dream home in 1977 and never moved. He was also a parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Saracco, his daughter Elizabeth (m. Anthony Glacken), his son Brian, and his two adoring grandchildren Aidan and Eilish (Glacken).
