Thank Tom for restoring my faith in Jesus. I wasn't having a good day and with your stories and telling me, you had Jesus in your heart helped me a great deal. You didn't even know that you did. Rest in Peace my friend. Prayers and thoughts with your family.

Uncle Tom you are going to be missed my so many! It still doesn’t seem real that I won’t ever hear your voice again! The sound of a chainsaw and the smell of fresh cut wood as I remember as a child. Will forever remind me of you. You are a legend and our family will never be the same! I love you Uncle Tom! Can’t wait till we are all together again!

Q: What 3 words best describe Thomas and why?
A: In three words, Godly, Caring, & Kind!
He loved his wife, children and grandchildren so much. Oh, his little buddy Sam the dog too! Tom, you reminded me of my dad, you loved to talk, and I will miss the life stories you always told. I’m so sad I will not hear them anymore. I do know you’re with our heavenly father, we will meet again.
Thanks for being our friend!!!

My deepest sympathies to Tom Sr.'s family. When Tom and the boys would be taking care of my trees, Tom and I had the most fascinating conversations! His love of family and life was so apparent. Tom also explained so much of his family's and Bergen County's history! He was a wealth of knowledge and so interesting! Such a good guy and a tremendous loss. May he rest in peace with many prayers to his wonderful family.

Tom was always larger than life and provided wisdom (requested or not) in many situations. Our family called them life lessons. May he rest easy with the Lord. Thoughts and prayers are with the family, so very sorry for your loss.

I find myself at a loss for words as I share the sorrow of losing you There are countless cherished memories from our childhood, particularly the joyous moments spent at your pool parties and picnics. You have always been a source of strength for everyone around you, and it is clear how deeply you loved your family. I take comfort in the belief that you are now in a better place. However, your absence will be profoundly felt until we are reunited in heaven. Rest in peace, dear brother; I will forever hold you in my heart.

Certainly Tom was a character with a capital C. He was larger than life to me. He loved Jesus and they are together now. That's the comfort and one day the family will be reunited forever. Losing someone suddenly is very difficult, but God will see you through. I know that from experience. God bless you.

Mr. Vanderbeck was a very cool person. I only met him a few times. My name is kevin doyle from Jersey Tree Care. I do have to say that he raised two wonderful kids. His sons are exceptionally nice and polite. I’m sorry your father passed away at such a young age. That man did a wonderful job with those kids and I hope they continue to always remember their father as the person that He was. Very religious and a good hearted person.
