Obituary of John C Pasquariello

John C. Pasquariello, 98 years of age passed away September 9, 2024. John was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Italia (Fabrizio) and Antonio Pasquariello on April 15, 1926. Raised in Cambridge, John attended North Cambridge Catholic High School until 1943. Two months after he turned 17 years of age, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. John sacrificed his education to defend our country. Fifty-seven years later (2001), at their commencement ceremony for North Cambridge Catholic High School, John was presented with his high school diploma.
John was a World War II Navy veteran, who proudly served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bunker Hill C.V. 17 from 1943-1946 as a Coxswain.
After his honorable discharge, John moved to Springfield, Massachusetts and was employed by the Springfield Armory, Smith and Wesson and Sentry Security & Detective Agency, as a Sergeant Security Guard.
In his younger years, while smoking a pipe or cigars, John enjoyed reading, writing poetry, listening to Broadway music and Frank Sinatra. Later in life, he enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies, Red Sox's games and eventually Yankee's games and daily scratch offs. Most of all, he got great pleasure interacting with his great-grandchildren.
John is survived by two daughters, Veronica (Vikki) Castellano and her husband Dan, Oakland, NJ, Mia Bernardes and her husband Roy, Ludlow, MA., two step-sisters, Sabina McCarthy, Southhampton, MA., and Cathleen Heald, Agawam, MA., 8 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren and loving family members.
