It was 1972 and I was working part time in a tire shop in Midland park NJ. One day this dashing young man came into the store and started making all kinds of ruckus joking around. He was in a suit and you could see he had a shoulder holster. I asked who he was and was told “That’s Tony the Secret Agent”. I found out later that he had worked there some time before me and was now working for the government. When I met him that day I did not realize that that was the beginning of a lifelong friendship that would come to last 52 years. We started hanging out and a few years later I was part owner in a service station. Tony would stop in with apple strudel for everyone to have with coffee. We always looked forward to his visits and had a great time (it turned out he was hiding from work too). Our friendship continued to grow stronger and we became a big part of each other’s lives. We worked on cars together, rode motorcycles together, and even rebuilt his house together with my father’s direction. He taught me about single malt scotch and the ins and outs of the Portuguese restaurants in the ironbound section of Newark. We would celebrate holidays together and comfort each other in times of loss. He was always ready to help with any project or hobby that I got myself involved in. He even took a 16 hour trip with me to upper New York State to pick up the latest John Deere tractor that I had bought. We were so close to Canada the signs had French on them. He had become more brother than friend.
Tony was one of a kind and they really did break the mold when he was made. There will never be another like him. Rest in peace Tony. We had a good run.

I have many wonderful and loving, and most of all funny memories about Tony. One of our longest running gags was that every Christmas we would exchange a special gift. Years ago, Tony bought a bottle of champagne. That was fake! It was a completely sealed an empty bottle! He had it all wrapped up, convincingly and handed it to me! Much to my surprise, I found out there was nothing in it. So the following year I gave it back to him and so on, and so forth! It was a lot of fun for us for many years. Love you Tony so much and I know you’re cracking everybody up in heaven

Uncle Tony (my Godfather), I am going to miss you so much and hope that are at peace. I bet you’re giving everyone a run for their money with your jokes up in heaven. Keep smiling and know you will never be forgotten. We will all take good care of Aunt Helen for you, don’t you worry. Love you forever!

Uncle Floyd, always the jokester. You made us laugh, always. Remembering the good ol' days with INS when you were detailed up to Burlington, VT. You are part of my happy memories of those days. You will be missed....see you on the other side.. Love and hugs, always, Aly Randa
