Julia Elizabeth Sheridan
May 27, 1939 - January 15, 2024

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Julia Elizabeth Ryan Sheridan. Julia was born in Bronx, NY on May 27, 1939 to Daniel and Catherine Ryan. In the early morning hours of January 15, 2024, she peacefully joined her beloved husband of over 40 years, Richard Sheridan.

Judy was a Bronx girl through and through….she was a tough apple and had an incredible sense of humor. She was born and raised in the Bronx and was the only child of Daniel and Catherine Ryan. She faced heartache at a fairly young age when she lost her father as a teen, but with that loss she formed a strong bond with her mother. She graduated from Saint Simon Stock High School in the Bronx, and maintained a strong friendship with many of her friends she went to school with right up until her passing. Soon after high school Judy met the love of her life …Richard “Dick” Sheridan, also from the Bronx. They settled in Oakland, NJ where they raised their 4 children and created amazing family memories. Judy and Dick were happily married for over 40 years until Dick passed away in 1999.

Judy worked in Customer Service for most of her life and held various jobs in the Oakland area including Stern's department store, Scott Foresman, Fuji Bikes and later worked part time at Oakland Drugs.

There was nothing she loved more than being with her kids, her grandchildren, and more recently her first great-grandchild. She loved hearing all their stories of what was going on in their lives, including school, sports, and activities. She loved and cared about her family more than anything else, and enjoyed every holiday, important milestone, and special occasion spent with them. Judy was the life of the party and made everyone around her laugh.

Judy is predeceased by her parents Catherine and Daniel Ryan and her beloved husband Richard Sheridan. She is survived by her 4 children, Laura Sheridan of Bedminster, NJ, Richard D. Sheridan and his wife Mary of Towaco, NJ, Susan Renicker and her husband Ed from Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jennifer Klein and her husband Steven from Chester, NJ. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren - Matthew, Lexie, Nickolas, Cole, Dylan, Jack, Sam, Jacob, Aaron, Carter, Brendan and Peyton - and her only Great-Grandchild Charlotte "Lettie" Stone.

As we say goodbye to our caring, funny, loyal, selfless mother we take comfort knowing she passed peacefully, and is once again with the love of her life, Dick Sheridan. She leaves us with so many happy memories that we will forever hold dear.

Visitation will be Sunday January 21, 2024 from 2:00PM - 6:00PM at the Oakland Funeral Home in Oakland, NJ. The funeral mass will be Monday January 22, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oakland, NJ at 11:00AM. She will be laid to rest at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
