Michael Joseph Sullivan, 88, of Oakland, NJ passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, 11/13/23.

 

Joe was born on February 02, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Catherine Donohue and Florence Sullivan and is survived by his sister Kathleen Sullivan. Michael served in Germany for the US Army 1957-1959 returning home to marry the love of his life, Arlene Steinbuch in June 1960. They settled in Oakland NJ and raised their three children Michael Sullivan ( predeceased), Mary Gleeson (wife of Michael Gleeson) and Paul Sullivan.

 

Joe was a dedicated family man and devoted husband of Arlene (predeceased) and resident of Oakland for over 50 years. Joe’s greatest joy was being a grandfather to his 5 grandchildren Michael Sullivan, Ryan Terhune, Colin Gleeson, Mikayla Gleeson and Chloe Gleeson.

 

As we say goodbye to Joe, we take comfort in knowing he lived a long, fulfilling life, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. His memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind, a testament to a life well-lived. Rest in peace, Joe Sullivan, you will forever be missed.
