Obituary of Edward John Eilert

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Born 2 July 1961, Edward J. Eilert entered eternal rest surrounded by his family midday on 26 July 2023. An Oakland native, Ed was the son of Eleanor and the late Joseph F. Eilert, Jr. He is survived by his loving fiancée, Ginny Chucka and his loyal son, Jason. In addition, he is survived by his devoted siblings Steven (Jill), Joann (Edward), Bill (Amy). He will also be remembered as a loving uncle to Ben, Sam, Danielle, and Joseph. Marked by his outdoorsmanship and love for family, Ed spent much of his free time fishing, hiking, traveling, and passing quality time with those close to him. Also a remarkable friend, Ed could be seen enjoying breakfast at the Oakland Diner in good company, enjoying live music played by family at “the ranch”, or watching sports. On top of being a devoted family member, person, and friend; he was also a longtime employee of 37 years for Bergen Industry/FW Webb. Should you have ever found yourself stuck on the side of the road at night with a flat tire, Ed was the person who would have pulled over to fix it without hesitation. Ed lived a full life and impacted all of us positively. He has many close friends and family who will cherish his memory and pass his stories down for generations to come. We would like to thank Dr. Bernstein and his staff at RCCA for their compassion, commitment, and grace.
