Obituary of Mildred E O'Brien

Mildred (Mickey) O’Brien, nee Lockwood , 90, passed away at home on March 22,2023 from natural causes..  Mickey was born in Bethel Connecticut.  She resided in Oakland for 69 years where she and her husband William (Bill) raised their seven children. She was a devoted and active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church since it’s inception and  where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Prior to her retirement, Mickey worked with her husband at their company Dynastat Inc. 

Mickey was predeceased by her parents Eugene Lockwood and Eliza Lockwood nee Dakin, her husband of 64 years William (Bill) J O’Brien Jr, brothers George and William Lockwood, sisters  Gracia , Frances and Josephine Lockwood ,and daughters Katherine, Agnes and Grace O’Brien.

Mickey leaves behind her children Henry O’Brien, John O’Brien, Edward O’Brien, Matthew O’Brien, TrudyLynne (William) O’Brien, Joann Bowell Patricia Reed, thirteen grandchildren,  nine greatgrandchildren and many nieces nephews and cousins.  

 The family would like to thank the VA Aid and Attendance Program, Amazing Grace Homecare and Valley Hospice for enabling Mickey to remain at home. 

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
