Obituary of Betsy Reeves

Elizabeth “Betsy” Reeves (nee Stanton), former resident of Oakland, Bergenfield and Bloomfield NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022. She was 62.

Her family will host a celebration of life during her birth month of February in 2023. Exact date/place to be announced. 

Elizabeth, always known as Betsy, worked for Bergen County Special Services for more than 30 years. 

A graduate of Bloomfield High School, she  was involved in all sports from softball to basketball, played the accordion and piano.

She loved music, swimming, traveling and all animals, especially her cat, Banjo and grand pets, Geppetto, Oliver and her angel Bella. 

If you ever met Betsy, she was always trying to make others laugh. In recent years, she made sure her life was carefree and relaxed with most of her free time spent with her daughter.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Stanton; daughter, Kelli DiNapoli (nee Reeves) and son-in-law, Joe; her brothers, Gary (Debbie), Jimmy (Laura) and Frank Stanton; sister, Katie Occupinti (John); aunt, Cathy Delrosso; many cousins, nieces, nephews, cherished friends and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, James Stanton Sr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge; 2 Shelter Ln, Oakland, NJ  07436.
