Obituary of Naomi Alice Lang
Naomi Alice (nee Russell) Lang died peacefully Monday morning, June 20th, near Tampa, Florida. Naomi was 98. The cause of death was complications from Covid-19.
Naomi was born in New York, NY on May 16, 1924 to Naomi Deering and Daniel Russell. She graduated from NYU and later obtained a master’s in education from William Patterson College. She married Francis (Frank) Harold Lang in 1950, and they were married over 60 years. Her husband predeceased her in 2011.
Naomi was a resident of Oakland from 1957 through 2015. She taught elementary school, primarily 4th grade, at Manito from 1968 to 1988. She loved family, teaching, sewing, gardening , animals and chatting with anyone who happened by.
She is survived by her three children: Francis Harold (Hal) Lang of Belford, NJ, Naomi Elisabeth (Beth) Unnasch of Tampa, FL, and Paul Russell Lang of Chevy Chase, MD, together with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will welcome visitors at the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland on Sunday June 26, 2022. Funeral Liturgy Monday June 27, 2022 10 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception 900 Darlington Avenue Mahwah Burial Mary Rest Cemetery Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to Ramapo-Bergan Animal Refuge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
