Please share a memory of Walter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Walter Kozdemba, 74, of Ringwood, New Jersey passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 at Valley Hospital.
He was born on December 29, 1946 in Passaic, NJ to the late Agnes (Mielewski) and Walter Kozdemba.
He previously resided in Wallington, Garfield and East Rutherford before moving to Ringwood in 1972. He was a proud graduate of East Rutherford High School and Rutgers University School of Pharmacy. He enjoyed his career as a pharmacist since 1969 keeping his license current until his passing. He enjoyed helping the public, giving one on one attention while turning many customers and collegues into long time friends. He retired from CVS Pharmacy in 2014.
Walter enjoyed spending his time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors whether hiking in the woods or spending time at the Jersey Shore. He was an avid fisherman having participated in many tournaments around NJ.
He was very proud of all the achievements of his children and grandchildren. Walter was their biggest supporter through their many activities. He volunteered in numerous positions for Ringwood Recreation over the years, as a coach, league representative and treasurer. He most recently found great happiness in attending all of the sporting events of his grandchildren. He could always be found cheering on the whole team, knowing each player by name.
Walter is survived by his loving family-wife Laura (Gaechter), daughters Tracey Kozdemba and Jill Struble and her husband Shawn as well as son Andrew Kozdemba. He was predecessed by his son Jamie in 1999. He was the beloved Pop-Pop of four grandchildren, Cooper, Kendall and Hunter Struble and Harper Monego. He is also survived by his brother George Kozdemba and many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
There is a huge hole in our hearts and our world has changed forever. We are at peace knowing that he is reunited with his son Jamie. Here is to lots of fishing in heaven.
