Jean Palmer

1971-2019

Ms. Jean Palmer, 48, of Oakland, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Chilton Medical Center after a brief battle with breast cancer, with her beloved Scott Green by her side.

Born on January 9, 1971, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ann Palmer. She is survived by her parents and her brother Tom, sister-in-law Heather, nieces Lena and Maya, and her uncle and aunt James and Nancy Tienken and cousins Andrew and Annie.

Jean was a graduate of Indian Hills High School, Class of 1989. Following graduation she attended classes at Ramapo College and worked as a paralegal and a self-employed transcriptionist.

Jeannie was a loving, kind, warm and giving woman who left us far too soon. Jeannie was always there for anyone who needed help, without question or judgment. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She enjoyed the outdoors and would feed every animal she saw. She also loved to cook and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Rangers. Jeannie will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436. A brief service will follow at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436 (rbari.org/donate) or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (give.bcrf.org)
