Obituary of Ethel S. Hall

Ethel S. Hall passed away April 14th at the age of 96.  She was born in Fort Lee, New Jersey and is the daughter of Edward and Margaret Suckow.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband George W. Hall, her sister Florence Isabelle Suckow, and daughter Janet Lorraine Hall Cipolla.

Ethel raised her family in Scotch Plains and Warren Township, New Jersey.  She also lived in Missouri for 15 years before returning to Pompton Plains, NJ in retirement where she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Rummikub with friends.

She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret Claire Hall Helmstetter and her husband Donald J. Helmstetter.  She also had four grandchildren: Donald James “Jamie” Helmstetter, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, Cara Nicole Cipolla, Kristen Hall Helmstetter, and Katherine Lynn Cipolla Sanford and her husband Chad, as well as eight great grandchildren. 

Services will be held at the Cedar Crest Chapel on Tuesday April 23.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following.  Internment at Somerset Hills Cemetery in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to benefit the Sloan Kettering Center.
