Dear Frank and family- I was just informed of Ann's passing online. The kids and I send our most sincere condolences. We had no idea and we are all shocked and saddened by the news. As you know, Ann was my role model for what a modern woman should be. We shared so many funny and sad experiences together- REMEMBER THE INFAMOUS TURKEY STORY? Your friendship meant everything to me. I wish peace to you and your family. Again, we are so sorry. Love to all - Sheila Collins

Dear Fay family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one. It seems no greater sadness is felt than when someone so dear to us is loss. May you find comfort in your memories and draw strength from a promise God has provided which gives the hope of someday being reunited with your beloved ( John 5 : 28,29 ). This promised future is one that will be filled with great joy because it will include perfect health and everlasting life on a paradise earth where " the former things have passed away " ( Rev. 21 : 4, Psalms 37 : 29 ). May you find comfort in knowing that God does care and He does hear our cries. Please accept my most sincere condolences.

Oh, Jim, I am so sorry. I am very glad I had the opportunity to meet your mother. She seemed smart, warm, and strong, and from knowing you, I imagine she was a fine, fine woman. I admire her from what the obit said about her. It seems she was the kind of woman everyone would like to know and aspire to be. Love you.

Dear Jim and family:
We are so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Love that she was a fan of Don Quixote and fighting for those without a voice. Sounds like she was quite a spirited woman who would have been great to know. Our thoughts are with your family at this sad time.
Take care.

We are so sorry for this terrible loss for the Fay family and all who have known Ann. She was a great lady who always had "family first", but never seemed to forget others. Many years ago, I was lucky to have had the opportunity to coach Ann Marie @ St Mary's. Both Ann and Frank were very supportive of my coaching efforts and years later she shared something with me that I have never forgotten. Ann said "you have no idea what a positive impact you have had on those you have coached", and I should always remember that. Well, I have never forgotten and always appreciated her comment. I hope Ann realized the "positive impact" she had on my life, and family with the things I have always tried to do with her complement in mind.
Rest in God's hands Ann, we all loved you very much.

Dear Eileen, Mr. Fay, and family,
I am so sorry for your sudden loss. I admired your Mom for all of her generosity, wry commentary, and her ability to make people feel welcome in your warm and bustling home. She was opinionated, but never mean-spirited, intellectual, but never snobbish. She supported her kids in their many adventures but never smothered them; in fact I can almost hear her snorting over today's helicopter parents.
The beautiful tribute you wrote for your mom only made me love her, and all of you, even more.
Sincerely,
Jeffra

Susan, Darren, Debbie (Sheffield) and I are saddened by the passing or our long-time neighbor on Algonquin Trail in Oakland but were happy to have known her so long and see the recognition of a life well-lived. The Fays were living in Oakland for several years before we moved in down the street. It was only Susan and I and 1 year-old Darren at the time and then Debbie several years later - it was joy to see all the kids on the block playing with and taking care of each other - not the least being the Fay clan. We could tell by the kids - they babysat for us - what great role models their parents were.
We moved from our Oakland home of 37 years five years ago but have so many fond memories of our old street.
Our best to Frank, their children and their grandchildren.
The Kanes
