Koch, Muriel (nee Monroe) passed away December 27, 2015 at her longtime Oakland, NJ home of 50 years. Muriel, born in Brooklyn, NY to Harry and Catherine Monroe on Aug 5, 1937. She was the sister to five siblings; Joe, Bobby, Jimmy, Catherine and Peg. The loving wife of Howard J Koch, Bronx, NY married on Oct. 18, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, residing in Brooklyn until moving to Oakland, NJ in 1964. Muriel worked at Manito School before continuing her career at Citizen's First Bank, Russ Berrie Inc, Homestead Roofing and retiring from Shisesdo as an Export Administrator after 15 years of service. She was also an active member of Mothers' Club of Oakland, as well as president. An active volunteer in the VFW Post 3336 preparing in both organizations numerous benefits and charitable functions. Muriel was also an active member of OLPH Church. Muriel is survived by husband Howard J Koch, Oakland, Children Maureen Koch, Oakland, NJ; Kevin Koch, Stillwater, MN; John Koch, West Milford, NJ; Mary Pille (nee Koch), Oakland, NJ; (predeasced by Steven Pille, Woodland Park); Brian Koch, Pompton Lakes, NJ; Grandchildren; LJ, Matthew, Allison, Julia Koch of West Milford, NJ and Joseph, Steven, Brian, Anthony Pille of Oakland, NJ. Muriel was also was a resident of Ship Bottom, she was a big fan of spending time at the beach. She was an avid Jeopardy fan. Never missed a show. She played bunco with a group friends. Muriel was more than a great wife and mother and Grandmother; she was a great sister, friend, aunt and everything a woman can be. Funeral Liturgy will be on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 117 Franklin Ave. Oakland, NJ, followed by a private cremation. Family and friends can visit the Oakland memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ on December 30 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Oakland First Aid P.O.
