Obituary of Julia Emily Ferrarella

Julia Ferrarella (nee Bayes) age 87 of Oakland died Monday December 7th at Oakland Care Center in Oakland. She was born in Paterson and lived in Oakland for the past 59 years. Julia started a girls’ softball League in the early 60’s. She was a leader for many years for Girls Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. Her favorite hobby was knitting and she enjoyed making lap robes, hats, and scarves for the Veterans home in Paramus. For many years she also knitted hats for newborn babies for Saint Joseph’s hospital in Wayne, She knitted animals for children, collected clothing and donated toys to Father Cyprian at the Society of Good Samaritan in Paterson. She loved spending her entire summer swimming in the pool and going down the shore with her four children and her three grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her granddaughters’ volleyball games and grandson’s baseball games being they were her pride and joy.
Beloved wife of her late husband Joseph V. Ferrarella, loving mother to Joseph Ferrarella of West Milford, Gail Ferrarella and boyfriend Dave Ferretti of Pt. Reading, Sandy Ferrarella of West Milford, Alice and her husband Michael Lembo of North Haledon, and Don Becker of Indiana. Beloved Nana to Michael, Amanda, and Maddie Lembo.
