Thompson, Dolores, 85 passed into eternal life on Thursday, October 29, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dolores was born in Passaic and had lived in Oakland since 1962. Prior to her retirement in 1998, she was employed by Jencraft Corporation in Totowa for over forty years. Her passions, besides working, were gardening, caring for her family, and being Grandma/Mimi to her treasured grandchildren. Dolores was a quiet, gentle soul, but those who had the privilege to truly know her were graced by her limitless, unconditional care, generosity, and most importantly, love. Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, as well as her eleven siblings especially her special twin sister, Catherine (Karen) Sowa. She is survived by her devoted family including her son John and his wife Rosemary of Ringwood and son George and his wife Christin of Oakland as well as her adored grandchildren Joshua, Ashley, Emily, Robert, and Ava who were her whole world. Also surviving are her brother-in-law Frank Sowa and numerous caring nieces and nephews. Dolores will truly be missed. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Oakland Memorial Home330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Oakland Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Paterson, NJ.
