Obituary of Paul J. Jennings

Jennings, Paul Joseph 73, of Oakland, passed away at home on September 23 rd., 2015. Devoted husband to Suzanne Jennings [nee Graynor], wonderful father to Robert Jennings and his wife Lynda of Cliffside Park, and Kurt Jennings and his wife Jamie of Butler. Loving grandfather to Claudia, Alex, and Soren. Paul was also a fantastic brother-in-law, amazing uncle, and loyal friend. Paul was born in Teaneck, son of Paul and Catherine, and brother to Rita Johnston [predeceased] and Joan Hintz. Paul, a Vietnam Veteran, Big Red 1, proudly served his country from 1964 to 1966 with the 1st Infantry Division, 7th Artillery, in Vietnam. Upon returning home, Paul soon married Sue, and together they raised two wonderful boys. Robert and Kurt both made their father so proud. A machinist by trade, Paul also started his own company, MYCO, where he was an owner/operator. Paul had many enjoyments in life. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife and friends. Paul also loved animals, specifically his girl, Cindy. Paul had a great sense of humor and could put a smile on anyone's face. He also had a gift to make anyone comfortable in his presence. He was a true gentleman whose actions spoke louder than his words. His absence will affect many. We will remember Paul and smile, yet we will miss his advice, his laugh, his smile, his conversations, and his overall presence. A memorial will be held on October 3rd, 2015 at Oakland Funeral Home, 10-12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Vietnam Veterans of America.
