Obituary of James A. Geraghty

James A. Geraghty, a resident of Oakland NJ for over 30 years, passed away Friday, June 26th 2015 at the age of 67. He was a retired administrative law judge of NJ, and a former partner of the law firm Donahue & Donahue in NYC. He also served as a councilman of Oakland for 16 years. He was a graduate of Fordham University with a B.A. in economics, Fordham University School of Law with a J.D, and NYU School of Law with a LL.M. Master of Law in International Legal Studies. Finally, he was a proud veteran of the US Army serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the Military Police Corps. James is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Phyllis, his daughter and granddaughter Tara and Emily, his daughter Laura, his son's family Lon, Caroline, and their son Ajax, and his son and his son's fiancé James and Amanda. A wake will be held on Thursday July 2nd between 6 and 9 pm at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd, Oakland, NJ 07436. A funeral mass will be held on Friday July 3rd at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Blue Star Connection, an organization that supported his granddaughter Emily, a cancer survivor, at bluestarconnection.org, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
