Remsen, Howard 92, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on Thursday, April 9th in Pompton Plains, NJ. Born in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, on April 13, 1922 to Howard Remsen, Sr. and Emma (Kammerer) Lamberson. Graduated John Adams High School, Richmond Hill, NY. Served in the US Navy from 1942-1946 in the Pacific theater. Married Mary Wessels of Richmond Hill, Queens, NY on April 13, 1946 and moved to Mineola, NY in 1950. He also resided in Ringwood, NJ (1969-1989) and Mahwah, NJ (1989-2010). Howard retired in 1983 after almost 43 years as an employee of the IBM Corporation. One of Howard's greatest joys in life was singing and he was a member the choir of every church he joined, including Ponds Reformed Church in Oakland, NJ since 1970. He also was a member of both The North Jersey Male Chorus from 1972 and when it transitioned to The North Jersey Chorus in 1994. He was an active member Ponds Reformed Church, the Boy Scouts, and a lifelong athlete, from track and field, basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, skiing and waterskiing. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 69 years, Mary (nee Wessels) Lamberson, son James R. Lamberson and his wife, Sara, of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter, Jane Casazza of Wyckoff, NJ; grandchildren Edward R. Lamberson (Donna) of Commerce City, CO, Jeffrey S. Lamberson of Dickinson, ND, Bryan J. Lamberson of Colorado Springs, CO, Melissa C. Casazza-Morse (Gregory Morse) of Dumont, NJ and Michael L. Casazza of Wyckoff, NJ; and great-grandchildren Skylar R. Lamberson and Dakota A. Lamberson of Commerce, CO, Jorden Lamberson and Bailei Lamberson of Spokane, WA, and Gemma A. Morse of Dumont, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15th from 2-4 pm at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Oakland, NJ. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 15th at 7:30 pm at Ponds Reformed Church, 341 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland and additional visitation with the family following the service in the church parlor.
