JOSEPHINE ANN "Jay" DANISH (nee Peraino) of Oakland died on September 28, 2014. Jay was predeceased by her husband Einil J. Danish (2003). A resident of Oakland for over 50 years, she and her husband maintained a winter home in Key Largo, Florida. She served on the Oakland Board of Health, the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated Magna Cum Laudi with Phi Zeta Kappa and Phi Omega Epsilon honors. She received from Rutgers State University a certificate in community planning. In 1972 she was awarded a Meritorious Service Certificate by the Oakland Democratic Club for community service. She retired from Jacquelin Cochran Co. in NYC in 1985 as Director of Market Research. Jay is survived by sisters Etta Peraino and Eleanor Antolino and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy at St. Joseph's Church Lodi, NJ Thursday at 10 AM. Followed by a burial at St. Nicholas cemetery, Lodi. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) in Oakland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ. .
