O'ROURKE, Muriel (nee Willer), 87, of Oakland passed away on Monday, March 24 with her family by her side. Muriel was born in Renfrew, Scotland, the loving daughter of Charles and Mary Willer. She was preceded in death by her husband Terence in 1997.Muriel retired from American Cyanamid as a switchboard operator. A 57 year resident of Oakland, she was active in the Mother's Club, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Rosary Society, the Oakland Senior's Young at Heart Club and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.While Muriel was known for being a gourmet cook, a great entertainer and her fantastic sense of humor, it was her family that she cherished the most. She will be missed by her children: Kate and John Gawryluk, Barbara O'Rourke, Peggy and Brian O'Neill, Eileen and Rob Sumner, Patricia D'Errico and Terry and Cathy O'Rourke and the lights of her life grandchildren; Cameron, Riley and Chandler O'Rourke, Mariel D'Errico, Mac and Whitney Sumner and Jake and Kendra Sumner and her great grandchildren; Grady, Timmy and Will Sumner. Muriel is also survived by her brothers Jack and Charles Willer and a sister Ellyn Gill, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Muriel's life with her family on Wednesday, March 26 at the Oakland Memorial Home from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00PM. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 27 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oakland, NJ. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
