David S. Patton, 75, of Oakland, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on June 17, 1942, where David spent his early childhood. His family moved to Huntington, West Virginia, where he graduated from Vinson High School. He earned his undergraduate and doctorate degrees in Organic Chemistry from The Ohio State University. He moved to Oakland in 1977 where he served as a Zoning Board member and Councilman. His 31 year career as a loyal employee of Pfizer ended in 2002 when he retired to spend time with his family and his passions which included reading, photography, music, computers and movies. He will be remembered for his compassion and wry sense of humor. David is predeceased by his parents Charles S. Patton and Rachel L. Patton and survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Connie Patton; his children, Valerie Menzo, Virginia Patton and her wife Bridgette, Scott Patton and his wife Meghan, Victoria Hardell and her wife Jen, Christina Hendricks and her husband CJ, David Patton II and his wife Keri Lynn; his grandchildren, Tony, Alex, Alyssa, Caden, Cam, Dominic, Jillian, Bennett, Hunter, Maxwell and Jayden.
