Mulcahy, Joan, 79, of Oakland, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Oakland Care Center in Oakland, New Jersey, surrounded by loved ones. Joan was born in New York to Anne Sullivan on July 2, 1937. She was a devout catholic and an active parishioner at OLPH church. She loved spending her summers down the shore at her beach house in Bradley Beach NJ. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years James, and was the loving mother of Pam Masarwa and her husband, Rachman; James Mulcahy and his wife, Lisa; Tom Mulcahy and his wife, Regina, cherished grandmother (Nani) of Mathew, Kyle, Zachary, and Gabriel; dear friend and sister-in law Christine Mulcahy, and brother-in law Bill, as well as the proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Oakland Care Center and the members of Compassionate Care for the amazing support and gracious care they gave their mother in her final days. Visitation will be held at Oakland Memorial Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Thomas Paul Lipnicki officiating.
