Albert W. Flade, 79, passed away peacefully at home in Park Ridge on April 29, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. Albert is survived by Eileen, his wife of 54 years, daughter Mary Beth and husband Bill Poandl of Middletown, son Albert and wife Nancy Flade of Oakland, daughter Christine Gusterson of Oakland and his sister Barbara Cardea of Cherry Hill. He also dearly loved his 8 grandchildren: Alison, Lauren, Sarah, Eric, Ryan, Michael, Matthew and Thomas. Albert was born and raised in Leonia, NJ and graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He then served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Albert began his career as a salesman in 1961. He worked for Moore Business Forms for 17 years, ending as a regional manager. He then became President of Unified Data Products in Fair Lawn, NJ until 1989 when he formed Bergen Business Forms, Inc. with his son in Franklin Lakes. He worked until his retirement in 2003. Al was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He loved sports, especially watching the Giants and golf. He enjoyed tailgating, grilling, golfing, bowling, watching a good suspense movie and being near the water. He will be remembered for his big heart and bigger hugs, his kindness, his sense of humor and his devotion to his family. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 4th, from 6:00 to 9:00pm, at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland NJ 07436. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, May 6th, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 580 Ratzer Road, Wayne NJ 07470.
