John M. Puttenvink, age 89 of Oakland, NJ Born in Clifton, NJ he lived in Oakland for the past 58 years. John was Co- owner/operator of Wittie Electric in Clifton retiring in 1999 and had attended Stevens Institute in Hoboken, NJ. He was a member of the Ponds Reformed Church in Oakland and a US Navy Veteran of World War II serving on the USS Charles S. Badger (DD657) in the Pacific Theater of operations. Beloved husband of Evelyn Puttenvink of Oakland, NJ Dear father of Carol and her late husband David A. Wood of Ct. and Mark and his partner Beth Appio of Mahwah, NJ loving grandfather of David Wood and his Fiancée Beth Scheirer, Christopher Wood and his wife Sonya, Connor Wood, Sean Glen Puttenvink and Ty Christian Puttenvink Cherished great grandfather of Lillianna Wood. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 30, 2016 Twelve Noon at the Pond Reformed Church 341 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ (please arrive at the church at 11:45AM). Burial will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. Relatives and friends my visit at the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland on Friday January 29, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
