Forrest, Martin R. 86, of Oakland, died suddenly Sunday Jan.24, 2016. Son of the late Thomas W. and Florence Blockburger, he was raised in Hawthorne, N.J. Martin served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a partner in Precision Products in Paterson for 12 years. He owned and operated Beamar Electronics for 20 years until his retirement in 1990. He was an avid fisherman and race car fan. He loved to travel and he and his wife toured the four corners of the world. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bernice. They were married in 1951 and had 64 wonderful years together. The most important component of his life was his family and they gave him immeasurable joy. - In addition to his wife he leaves his children Bernice Staudinger (Warren), Martin Forrest (Molly), Annemarie Mitchell (Howard), Patricia Forrest and his grandchildren Amy Forrest (Nori), Kate Forrest (Adam), Tyler and Connor Staudinger. He was predeceased by his son Stephen in 2015 and his grandson Bryan in 2001. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, Jan.29 from 3 to 6 PM at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, N.J. A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Pompton Lakes, N.J. at 9:30 AM followed by burial at Ponds Cemetery in Oakland.
