Monaghan, Kenneth George, 83, passed into eternal rest on October 17th. Born in Bronx, New York on March 31, 1931. Kenneth was the oldest son of John & Florence Monaghan and was preceded in death by his brother John. Kenneth attended Manhattan Prep High School and then went on to St. John's University. He was a member of the United States Naval Reserve. He founded Atlantic Planning Consultants in Wayne and was the pension consultant for Silk & Rayon Printers & Dyers Assn in Paterson. He was an avid NY Giants & NY Yankees fan, golfer and thoroughbred horse racing lover. He moved his family from the Bronx to Oakland, NJ in 1966. He was a member of the American Legion Post 369 in Oakland, NJ, president of the Ramapo Mountain Lakes Country Club in Oakland, a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a member of the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne and High Mountain Golf Club in Franklin Lakes. He lived in Pompton Lakes, Loch Arbour and most recently Asbury Park, NJ where he resided for the last 7 years. Survivors include his six sons: Kenneth G. Monaghan Jr (Denise) of Wayne; Thomas Andrew (Lisa) of Montvale; Christopher James (Julie) of Stroudsburg, PA; Mark Francis (Diane) of Long Boat Key, FL; James Paul of Mahwah; Stephen Regis (Michelle) of Oakland; one daughter Maryellen (Richard) Mullikin of Georgetown, KY and was preceded in death by son Brian Joseph Monaghan; 16 grandchildren: Patrick Ryan Monaghan (Domenica), Brendan Terrance Monaghan, Andrew Brian Monaghan, Thomas Edward Monaghan, Caroline Elizabeth Monaghan, Brian Joseph Monaghan, Tracey Ellen Monaghan, Matthew Kevin Monaghan, Alexandra Maree Mullikin, Luke Taylor Mullikin, Spencer Ryan Mullikin, Bridgette Claire Mullikin, Nicole Kristin Miller (Christopher), Danielle Rose Monaghan, Emily Grace Monaghan and Sean Joseph Monaghan; 3 great grandchildren: Brynn Maree Roy, Giancarlo Patrick Monaghan and Logan James Miller and best friend James Edward Mulcahy. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 117 Franklin Ave in Oakland, NJ on Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 9:30 AM followed by immediate burial at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. Friends and family may visit the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road (Rt 202) Oakland, NJ on Tuesday October 21, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
